I have experienced the full clean-sheet aircraft design process.
In 2018-2020, a dwindling number of grad students in my adviser's lab competed in Boeing's GoFly Prize contest to build a 1-person flying vehicle (think: flying motorcycle vs. a flying car).
We took our award-winning final idea from paper design to flying hardware in less than 1 year. I wore the electrical, avionics, fundraising, marketing, and administrative hats for this endeavor.

Our company logo. The name's inspiration comes from our quiet-propeller technology which lets you fly in harmony with the sky. The Pegasus' green mane signifies our "green" all-electric credentials, and two blue wings represent our co-axial quiet propellers.
I helped found and raise +$1M for a deep-tech startup.
We tried to spin-off some of the quiet-propeller technology we developed for GoFly. I was a co-founder and the COO/CFO from 2018-2022. It was an eye-opening experience into all the non-technical stuff required to get something off the ground...
Now, I can relate to so many scenes from HBO's Silicon Valley—Especially this one!

I made AIAA great again! (at Texas A&M)
As an undergrad, I was heavily involved in the Texas A&M chapter of AIAA, the American aero-astro society with a really long name. I presided over the org from 2015-2016 when I doubled attendance and revenue without raising dues. For the first time in a long time, we held a tailgate, contests, and even hosted non-aero companies.
I burned myself out, but I learned a lot of things that were essential to our team's success in GoFly, such as marketing, fundraising, and administration.
